Stress at work is one of the main causes why we feel tired, unmotivated, and sometimes miscommunicate with co-workers. Pero kahit anong demand ng work, there are still ways to handle this situation, perform well at work and get better relationship with workmates.
But again, stress is not always bad. You just have to know which stress are you experiencing so you know how to deal with it properly.
Pero to most professionals, these are some of the reasons why they feel stressed at work.
- Mahabang oras sa work (sometimes called “OT-y”)
- Deadlines
- Heavy workload pero no satisfaction sa salary
- Bossy Boss (as always)
- And of course, unexpected laid off (walang pagkukunan ng pambayad sa mga loans)
And when we reach our ceiling to handle the situation it automatically stops the mind and body to work properly including the way we communicate with co-workers or staff.
So here are my tips to handle stress at work and perform well.
Number 1: OPEN UP
No man is an island “ika nga”.
We rely on others talaga. Just simply talk to someone who you really trust. It could be your friend, relative, spouse or sibling, or even your parents. You can tell them na hindi nyo kelangang i-solve or sagutin ang problem ko—just listen.
By doing that, you will regain your calmness and ability to think properly.
Number 2: CHOOSE YOUR BODY
When we are stressed. We easily neglect our physical health, right?
So giving your body enough nutrition and exercise. You are making your body more stronger and resilient to any stress. You can walk, run, dance, play the drum etc. Anything that will break the cycle. Some use music to mute the environment for a while.
Or, put yourself out of the situation. Go out and take a 30-minute walk. Anything that will help you feel like you’re back in the driver’s seat.
But never forget to equip yourself with enough nutrients. Because without your body, you can never work and produce money for your family.

Number 3: SLEEP
When we’re under stress, we often feel na “hindi makatulog”.
And on the next day, we started to feel sleepy, losing our creativity, making poor decisions and our ability to focus also starting to fade away.
So to avoid these, here are some of ways you can do to be able to get enough sleep and perform well at work.
- Go to bed at the same time every night. This will help you and your body to create habits.
- Aim for 8 hours of sleep
- Turn off screens one hour before bed.
- Don’t touch any work related stuff. Focus on slow moving activities like reading a book, listening to music or even do a deep breathing exercise (hanggang sa makatulog)
And I believe, sleep is one of the best gifts from God. So enjoy it!
