Many were curious or get bothered if getting stressed ang reason ng pagkakaron ng cancer.
Especially kung nasa stressful environment ang field of work like Policemen, Firefighter, Military, Pilot, Broadcaster, Businessmen, Public Relations Officer/ Executive. Including Surgeons and Lawyers and the likes.
For many years, there are no evidence na stress ang direct cause of cancer. But how you cope or manage stress can affect your health and a risk to get cancer.
But, is getting stress bad?
Not all the time. In fact there are 3 types of stress. But only 2 of these ang alam lang natin.
Eustress: This is the kind of stress na gustong-gusto natin! Dahil it make us feel happy and excited. No threat and fear. Without these kind of stress, dito tayo makakaramdam ng boredom and depression.
Acute Stress: Or mas kilala as “Trauma”. Ito yung stress na nararamdaman ng mga taong naka experience ng hindi maganda sa sarili nilang buhay or sila mismo ang naka witnesss ng hindi maganda. This is manageable, as long as you can quickly divert your attention na magpapa relax sa’yo.
Chronic Stress: Now this one is famous. We normally feel this kind of stress sa work, family or even in relationship. Meaning, you are exposed to this kind of stress in your daily life ng paulit ulit. And most of the time, hindi kayang maiwasan ng basta-basta.
So, which of these stress are you experiencing in your daily life?
Well, most of the readers of this blog will choose the “Chronic Stress”, am I right? If so, here are some tips to do to reduce the risk of getting cancer.
Number 1: AWARENESS
According to World Health Organization, most people who are under stress ay hirap mag focus.
So, next time you catch yourself na stress, take a deep breath. But don’t just breath. Feel it. You’ll notice, unti-unti kang mare-relax and get more focused than before.
Number 2: HABITS
We are creatures of habits until it becomes routine.
Let me prove it to you in a practical way.
Do you brush your teeth after eating a meal?
Do you do this everyday?
Now, here’s the real question. Have you ever plan or think which direction to take when brushing your teeth? Not anymore, right?
In fact, you can do it while dancing or even your eyes are closed.
Same with our food choices, drinks or activities.
Dahil sa bad eating habits or food choices na ginagawa ng karamihan—nagiging routine na ‘to ng kanilang pang araw-araw na buhay including ang ibang activities like pagpupuyat at bad vices.
But, if these bad habits and routines turned to good ones. The risk of getting cancer or any other illneses can be reduced or avoided.
Number 3: ANTIOXIDANT
When God created earth, he provided us food that are rich in antioxidants!
I’m referring to vegetables and fruits. Ito yung tumutulong sa’tin to prevent ang pag damage ng cells natin.
As per WHO Philippines, adults should take 400g of fruits and vegetables per day. By doing so, you will reduce your risk of malnutrition and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
So start replacing your usual snacks to veggies or fruits to achieved the recommended dietary allowance (RDA) in your daily lives.
But because of the big demand for these foods, not to mention, yung pag maintain ng freshness nito dahil sa mahabang byahe bago makarating sa mga palengke and stores. Some are using “Calcium Carbide” para mabilis itong mahinog at mapanatili ang freshness until it reaches the stores.
And studies have shown that it breaks down the organic composition of vitamins and other micronutrients. Whew!
You can easily notice this if the skin looks riped but the stem is darked green. And when it comes to it’s taste, medyo matabang at hindi masyadong tumatagal. Ito yung sinasabi ng mga matatanda na “hinog sa pilit”
In addition, pwede ka makaramdam ng headache, dizziness, high sleepiness, memory loss, cerebral oedema, numbness in the legs and hands, general weakness, cold and damp skin, low blood pressure and seizure.
